Obviously, I am not in Japan at the moment and I did not give a lecture on my magic to the TAMC in Tokyo last night! [ This will happen at some time in the future ... ]. COVID19 has hit the world hard and it's got a long way to go before we see the end of it. I personally am looking at the silver lining of this time despite the difficulties ( financial, health and otherwise ) that we are facing. It really is a time of compassion, empathy, responsibility and an opportunity to take stock of things and be grateful for so many more things. It is also a time, with this moment of reflection and sharp focus to push for things to be improved. As much as we are fortunate here in Australia, there have been some questionable actions by government and its agencies and some brave and brilliant actions as well, and as we come out of this, there is an opportunity to change the way our society is structured for the betterment of all. I am doing my part, which is to do nothing - well not quite, but I am isolating with my family and doing what little I can to bring some magic to places it can make a difference. About a week ago I made a 15- 20 minute magic video for a brilliant charity I work with who bring joy and support for children and their families undergoing treatment for cancer. It is heartening and rewarding work to give the kids some respite for all that they go through. Koala Kids is the charity - they are brilliant and here's a little ' spooky action at a distance ', an excerpt from the video that I sent through for the Koala Kids Foundation.
Unfortunately, that video has vanished, so here's a hot picture instead.
